EMBRAER-145 REGIONAL JET; at last this versatile 50 seat charter jet is to make its debut in Australia.  Due early 2008, the size of Australian and distances throughout the South Pacific and South East Asia demand an aircraft of this size and performance.  Ideal for smaller groups up to 50 but still economical for fewer passengers, the ERJ-145 is a welcome addition.

Embraer 170, E-Jet | New Australian Charter Aircraft.  This is another positive sign that the Australian aircraft charter industry is in good health.  As of May 2007 JetCorp Australia has been able to provide a new, first of type Embraer 170 passenger aircraft.  This 76 seat, state of the art, regional and international airliner is a quantum leap forward in offering 21st century technology to the aircraft charter sector.

With more advanced and cost effective systems, the General Electric powered airliner offers substantial engine fuel efficiencies, winglets, maintenance concessions and operational advantages over existing aircraft.  It is the new bench mark in Australia.  

The news is even better; early 2008 the first of two Embraer-190's and two Embraer-145's arrive; providing similar high standards with 100 and 48 seat jet options.  The EMB-190 will be a direct competitor for the F-100's and 737-200's currently operating in Australia.  Rather that take business from each other there are strong indications that each aircraft type will find its own niche and play their individual roles in strengthening the charter and Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) sectors within Australasia.

Now, the next level of air travel is taking shape in a hangar outside Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lightweight, small jets seating maybe three pasengers, that will crisscross the countryside inexpensively are being assembled. Business 2.0 reports that the Eclipse jet being built for DayJet marks a turning point in aviation. 2,500 customers are signed. Air travel becomes like car trips not ocean cruising.
